“One of the most instantly recognisable voices in current music … Shades of Joni Mitchell in a jam with Karen Carpenter and Lana Del Rey.” —Trust The Doc
Hello there! I’m Sarah McQuaid. I sing, write songs and mostly play acoustic and electric guitars and piano, although I also dabble in fretless bass, floor tom drum and whatever other instruments come to hand. In 2017 I was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ards International Guitar Festival, and I’m the author of The Irish DADGAD Guitar Book, published by Hal Leonard/Novello. I hope you’ll enjoy my newsletters, which I don’t publish terribly frequently — maybe four times a year, so you won’t be bombarded — and which contain photos and general musings as well as news of forthcoming tours and album releases.
If you’d like to know more about me, please do visit my website, and follow me on Bandsintown for automatic notifications about tour dates near you. You can also connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. My music is available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music/iTunes, but the best way to buy my albums (as well as T-shirts and other merchandise) is via Bandcamp — your order goes directly to me, so if you’d like anything signed or giftwrapped, just let me know!
Being a full-time musician, I’m always deeply thankful for any additional support you can offer by visiting my Ko-Fi page, where you can choose to either set up a regular monthly donation for access to exclusive subscriber-only content, or just buy me a coffee! Every little bit helps.
